This back-and-forth is quite alarming to watch, being honest. Tegan and Michelle don't trust Connie's side of the story, but Cook says she loved Matt and wishes he was still here. 'Why would I kill him"?, she asks through tears. It's painful to watch people pouring their hearts out on camera like this, but that's what viewers have come to expect from 'Dark Side'.

Narrator Chris Jericho reveals that police found no evidence of Connie putting anything in one of Borne's drinks that evening/morning, and they couldn't prove negligence on her behalf for his overdose. Again, Tegan reinforces that this is wrong and that Connie had something to do with her dad's death.

It's such a sad, sad situation for everyone involved.

One thing becomes clear throughout the doc: Matt Borne needed somebody to look after him, because he wasn't capable of doing so himself. His drug and alcohol issues reached the point of no return, and the mysterious circumstances surrounding his passing in 2013 left even more heartache behind.
