Then, things take a drastically dark turn.

Jake Roberts has never been fond of Warrior (sensing a recurring theme?), but he was looking forward to the spotlight that'd come from working with him at SummerSlam 1991; Jake claims that Vince McMahon told him that was the plan for the summer spectacular, but also wanted Roberts to ask Warrior for permission before he'd green light it.

That doesn't sound right, and Jake's timing is also a little off. He said he'd be working a WWF Title program with Warrior heading into SummerSlam, but Warrior dropped the belt to Sgt. Slaughter at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view in January and wasn't champ by the time August came along either.

It is true that both men filmed some vignettes and other promo build though, so maybe the title bit was scrapped in favour of a non-title feud. Whatever happened, it didn't happen. Roberts hated Warrior for getting fired around this time, because it felt like someone had taken money out of his pockets.

He hated him so much that he wanted to kill the guy.
