10 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: The Ultimate Warrior
5. Hulk Hogan Gets All The Credit
Now, before going any further, this writer wants to be up front: Warrior vs. Hulk Hogan from WrestleMania VI is one of his favourite matches ever. It bottled a specific brand of WWF magic, and it instantly transports this guy back to childhood. It's also a bout that he's enjoyed as an adult for different reasons.
On 'Dark Side', JR said that Hulk carried Warrior "to immortality", and put over Hogan's ability to mask his peer's deficiencies in such a pressured live environment. That, ladies and gents, isn't exactly fair. It takes two to tango, and Ross knows that - everybody does.
This pretence that one wrestler can force another (kicking and screaming) to a brilliant match is lazy and unrealistic. VICE's documentary, for whatever reasons, refused to give Warrior any credit at all for 'Mania VI's main event, and that sorta' sucks for those who treasure it so much.
Here, you're told that Hogan was 100% responsible for the bout's success.
