10 Things We Learned From Dark Side Of The Ring: WCW Bash At The Beach 2000
6. Several Claims Clash With WCW Plans
At one point in the doc, Russo said everyone sat behind a table and decided Booker T should be World Champ one week before Bash At The Beach. It was a last-minute thing then, but...Jeff Jarrett claims the plan all along was for him to beat legends like Hogan then drop the belt to Booker.
Which one is true?!
Also, Jeff’s fourth run as World Champ lasted 41 days and he rarely wrestled guys you could consider “legends”. Beating Ric Flair and maybe Kevin Nash at the Great American Bash are the only victories of his that qualify from that reign. Other matches against Billy Kidman and Horace f'n Hogan defo don't count.
Again, it's totally unclear who's telling porkies or misremembering history to suit their own argument for VICE's cameras. Does Russo honestly think he deserves credit for flying by the seat of his pants and pulling a new World Championship push out of nowhere one week before the pay-per-view?
