For the topics covered in Dark Side of the Ring, there are certain key players who were involved, in or around for, so many of these real-life situations. And one particular person who could have valuable insight into plenty of these topics, is Hulk Hogan.

When asked whether they had reached out to see if The Hulkster wanted to be a part of Dark Side of the Ring, brother, Evan Husney explained how they would obviously be happy to have him on, and that there was hope of maybe having Hogan interviewed for the 'Dr. D' David Schultz episode.

"We would love to have him on," Husney stated, "We enquired through a friend of a friend. The 'Dr. D' David Schultz episode we thought would be an interesting place for him, because he and Dr. D used to be super-close pre-WWF era. Dr. D knew Hulk before he was Hulk, so we thought it would be a cool way to include their friendship. Their friendship ended, and basically I was told by the person that there was no chance in Hell that he [Hulk] would want to be part of a Dr. D episode - and I was bummed by that. Unfortunately it's never panned out for us with him, but we'd love to have him on the show in a heartbeat."

In Season 2 alone, Hogan is a presence in the episodes centred on David Schultz, Dino Bravo, and Jimmy Snuka and Nancy Argentino. Then there was the first season offering based on Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth, which likewise involved Hulk as a key figure - and an episode that he was reached out to about, but one he declined to participate in.
