6. He’d Record All His Early Matches

This is waaaaay ahead of the curve.

DDP was one of the first workers 'Stone Cold' knew of who invested in an old-school camcorder. At shows, Page would set up a tripod, hit record and tape the entire card. Then, he, Austin and Brian Pillman would shoot off down the road for 150-200 miles before checking into a "sh*tbox motel" (Austin's words).

There, the trio would try to plug the camcorder into the room's TV and analyse Page's match that night. Hilariously, Austin and pals (including Pillman, Kevin Nash and Raven) would occasionally wander in with some ad-libbed colour commentary on those rough-around-the-edges bouts.

Dallas doesn't have the tapes nowadays, because he'd tape over the same one time and time again. Christ, those would be worth a bloody fortune in 2021, and he knows it. Still, it's really cool that he wanted to sit down and take notes on his matches with more seasoned peers.
