10 Things We Learned From Diamond Dallas Page On The Steve Austin Show
7. Getting Into Yoga
When the injury happened, DDP says depression was kicking on over the prospect of never wrestling again but he knew if he stayed on that path it would never reverse itself. Page says he had rehabbed through two knee surgeries, and while he knew a lot about rehabilitation he knew even more about breaking up scar tissue which eliminates the pain. His then-wife Kimberly had been bullying him to try yoga but he wouldn't be caught dead doing yoga for the first 42 years of his life. Once he gave in and started doing it he immediately felt a difference in his core strength and flexibility. Austin asks what it was about yoga that drew him to it and he responds that it was more than stretching and strengthening muscles, but ligaments and tendons which is what holds you together. In less than three months he was back in the ring. "At 42-years old they said my career was over, at 43 I'm the world champ."
