10 Things We Learned From Goldberg On Edge & Christian's Podcast

9. His Unreal Dedication

Complaining about WWE’s over reliance on part-time performers has almost become cliché at this point. Yes, it’s frustrating that wrestlers like Sami Zayn and Braun Strowman might miss-out on a WrestleMania moment while 50-year-olds hog the spotlight, but that’s just how it goes. WWE’s inability to build new stars has forced them to rely on products of a bygone era, and until they address this issue, this is how it’s going to be.

Goldberg has been at the heart of this argument, and will likely close WrestleMania 33 with Brock Lesnar. Having only worked a handful of dates since returning, it’s easy to make the argument that he doesn’t deserve his lofty spot, but if the podcast is anything to go by, Goldberg has been working inhumanly hard to justify his position.

Stating that he’d slimmed down to a lean 235lbs in his time away, Goldberg claims to have packed on 25-30lbs of muscle since agreeing to return. He has upped his diet to a daily intake of 15,000-20,000 calories (the average male human gets by on about 2,500), and described himself as “a machine” who exists only to train and refuel, and even conducted the interview from his post-workout massage chair.
