10 Things We Learned From Hulk Hogan On Talk Is Jericho (Part 2)
10. Problems With Mr. T
It's been well-documented from many of the key players involved in that first Mania main event that doing business with Mr. T was a difficult affair. Neither Roddy Piper nor Paul Orndorff had any interest in working with the actor, especially selling for him, and T's enormous ego continually threw a wrench in the works and threatened to derail the event at the 11th hour. Hogan describes the entire ordeal as a constant struggle. Three days before the show Mr. T disappeared, allegedly sleeping in the park alongside some homeless people. The A-Team star managed to break away from his adventure long enough to accompany Hogan to the ill-fated Richard Belzer appearance, but the day of the big event rolls around and he's nowhere to be found. Mr. T was threatening to leave the arena because no one was letting his entourage in. Thankfully Hogan was able to resolve what could've been a catastrophic problem that could've signaled the end of the WWE and get T in the ring, where he wrestled the match that 30 years later would earn him the platform to tell the world how much he loves his momma.
