10 Things We Learned From Hulk Hogan's WCW Contract

7. Merchandising

The contract gave WCW the exclusive rights to Hogan's likeness and intellectual property for all wrestling purposes. However, Hogan did have the right to approve all merchandise. Plus, he received 50% of net profits on all merchandise sold by WCW that incorporated his name, likeness, or character. So as you can imagine, he was making a hell of a lot of money and getting a very good deal from WCW in relation to merchandising. Furthermore, he was able to use his intellectual property for any non-wrestling purposes, hence things like Hogan's PastaMania over the years.
