Did you know that Jeff Hardy disliked his WWE debut, had an argument with Vince McMahon backstage following one of his biggest WrestleMania showings and paid the bulk of his earliest company wage slips to somebody else? Well, now you do.
That's the kind of insight Steve Austin managed to pull from the near 30-year veteran on his latest 'Broken Skull Sessions' podcast. Being honest, this wasn't the best interview 'Stone Cold' has ever done, but his ability to tap into real-life stories and emotions saved the day; this has become a real hallmark of Austin's hosting style.
The legend point blank refuses to have dishwater dull episodes.
Jeff discussed his opinions on today's WWE roster, revealed his remaining goals before eventually hanging up the boots, opened up about a cancelled gimmick match that could've been a lot of fun and more. Throughout, he almost seemed at peace with some of the wild sh*t he's put his body through over the years too.
Some things still rankle Hardy to this day though. Certain erm...moments will never sit well with him despite happening 10 years ago.
10. Hardy Hates The Razor Ramon Match
Jeff Hardy's first WWE match wasn't even as Jeff Hardy.
The future fave appeared as jobber Keith Davis for an enhancement match opposite Razor Ramon on the 6 June 1994 Raw (taped on 23 May). Incredibly, Jeff told Austin on 'Broken Skull' that he didn't want to wrestle again after that night. That's how little he enjoyed the bout with Razor.
A few nights later, Hardy worked The 1-2-3 Kid for Superstars. That settled him down and made him continue his wrestling dream - Kid's speed was more Jeff's thing, apparently. It's interesting to learn that he has zero regard for the Ramon match, especially when it's one WWE has mentioned several times in other docs and interviews.
Jeff didn't go into details about why he didn't like wrestling Razor. Did Scott Hall eat him alive in there? Was he too rough? Did Hardy just not dig the slower style? Who knows. Somebody needs to ask him that during a future chat though.
