5. The Planned Ending Of THAT TNA Match

He does, however, regret this sorry incident.

Jeff showed up totally smashed before a headline bout opposite childhood hero Sting at TNA's Victory Road 2011 pay-per-view. Infamously, Eric Bischoff came out to smooth the situation over before the Stinger muscled Hardy to the mat and pinned him after a depressing 90-second struggle.

According to Jeff, the planned finish for the match would've seen him take that Scorpion Death Drop with a chair wrapped around his neck. That meaty bump didn't happen. Instead, Sting did everything in his power to keep his under-the-influence peer from embarrassing himself further and dropped him gently for the finish.

The WWE star is still despondent about this 10 years on. He recalls touching Sting's arm at a WCW show when he was just 12 years old, and says it's mortifying that he put an idol through that stress live on air. Unfortunately, Jeff's personal demons and addictions got the best of him that night.
