5. Doctors Told Him To Retire

One doctor at the rehab clinic told Jon he should retire from actively wrestling and open a school to help out the industry that way. She was only trying to do right by him, and figured that the biz he loved so much would be impossible to step away from. At the same time, the doc thought being on the road was an issue.

Mox disagreed.

The AEW star refused to blame wrestling for his addictions. They were his, and he planned to conquer them. It wouldn't make any difference if he was sitting in some office at a wrestling training school or hanging around airports - wrestling was never the root cause of his drinking.

Concerned, doctors wondered if less than three months was long enough to properly cure Moxley. He felt great by the time January rolled around though, and was keen to get back out there on AEW telly. Nobody was going to stand in his way.
