Eventually, something had to give. Jon came home on Halloween night 2021 and told Renee that he should probably go to rehab. The couple acted fast, so much so that Mox was handing out candy to kids on the street whilst on the phone to the rehabilitation centre.

Renee was the one who dealt with Tony Khan and AEW. They wished him well, but also wanted to know how he fancied broaching the subject with fans publicly, or if he even fancied doing that. Moxley told them just to tell the truth, and it felt like a weight had been lifted from his shoulders when news spread.

He didn't have a phone on him in rehab though, so he couldn't see the reaction online.

However, Jon felt good about things for the first time in a while. Tony told him it'd be cool if he never wanted to come back to pro wrestling, and it took Moxley by surprise that so many people were kind to him when they could've used alcoholism as a stick to beat him with.
