10 Things We Learned From Jon Moxley On Renee Paquette’s Sessions Podcast

3. BCC’s Threads Started With The Inner Circle

Onto some fun wrestling chat.

Jon recalled teasing that he'd join Chris Jericho's Inner Circle group a few years back. He loved that story, even if he knew nobody really bought into the idea of him turning heel and linking up with Jericho, Sammy Guevara and pals. Regardless, Mox wondered if he could play around with that tease a little more.

When Bryan Danielson's on-screen character started "making a compelling case" on TV, Moxley knew he could bring that old angle out of retirement. This time, he'd go through with it and become Danielson's tag-team partner. Meanwhile, Tony Khan viewed the whole story as a short-term thing.

Both Mox and Bryan "saw the same vision". What eventually turned into the Blackpool Combat Club started out as creative direction they took ownership of, and it all started because Jon recalled fan reactions to him threatening to become Inner Circle.

From there, William Regal joined on at AEW and everything snowballed.
