10 Things We Learned From Jon Moxley On Talk Is Jericho
6. Jericho Accepted The Shield First
This was news to Jericho, which is pretty funny.
Mox reminisced about working some house show tag matches with Jericho during The Shield's earliest days as a group. He told his friend that most WWE stars shunned this trio of newbies threatening to become a hot act, but the then-Y2J was always cool with them.
That's something Jon has never forgotten. Whilst many top-tier WWE stalwarts viewed Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins as "nobodies" coming in to take coveted spots away from them, Jericho embraced the trio and told anyone who would listen, 'Hey, these guys are pretty damn good'.
Eventually, others fell in line and realised that Jericho was 100% correct. When explaining why people were so frosty towards him and his Shield buddies, Moxley said that WWE's locker room culture was "different back then". They would've had a much tougher time gaining approval from the roster without Jericho's backing, that's for sure.
