10 Things We Learned From Jon Moxley's WWE Shoot On Talk Is Jericho
4. He Didn't Even Look At WWE's New Contract Extension
Chortle at this all you like, but WWE aren't stupid. They're fully aware that the pro wrestling landscape is changing, and they know that letting competitors like AEW or New Japan gobble up good talent could be treacherous in the long run. It's for that very reason that McMahon and company didn't want to let Jon Moxley go.
Here's the truth though: they didn't have a choice. He'd made his mind up the previous summer to set himself loose, and nothing was going to change his decision. In fact, Mox was so unhappy at things in WWE that he didn't even look at their contract extension when it was sent over to him.
It remained in the envelope, and there was no way he was signing a damn thing.
WWE's new deal didn't appeal to Jon. He told Jericho that money wasn't an issue, and neither was having somewhere else to go. Yes, as out there as it sounds, Moxley claims he would've left WWE even if AEW hadn't existed.
