That's not the sole pop culture reference Kofi puts into his move set. His finisher, the Trouble In Paradise kick, was inspired by the kick-ass martial arts skills of one Keno. If you don't know who Keno is, he's the pizza boy from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, a 1991 flick Kingston is a huge fan of.

Upon seeing Keno perform his spinning roundhouse kick on some bad guys in the movie, Kofi knew he had to turn it into a wrestling move. Originally, he was going to have some sort of Rock Bottom rip-off as his signature hold, but he didn't think he should be the type of wrestler to pick opponents up for his finish.

So, his Rock tribute hit the bricks and those heroes in a half shell were very much in.

Kofi believed a finisher he could use on any shape or size of wrestler was best, and he loved the fact he could use the spinning kick at any point in the match as a surprise game changer. No arguments here. It's a dynamite move.
