10 Things We Learned From Mark Henry's WWE Network Doc

6. The 'Father He Never Had' Passed Away Last Year

One of the better aspects of the documentary is that it doesn't shy away from Mark's family life. Growing up, his father died when he was only 12 years old. That would mess up any young person's mind, and Henry was no different. That's why he was grateful to befriend legendary powerlifter and trainer Terry Todd.

Todd proved to be an important figure in Mark's life. Not only did he help train his protege for the Olympics, but Terry also taught him some valuable lessons about being a good human being. At several points in the film, Henry can be seen breaking down in tears when he thinks about how much Todd did for him.

This humanity helps the documentary greatly.

Later, we learn that Todd died in 2018. It's lovely that Mark was able to spend a few minutes paying tribute to a father figure he dearly loved during his own story, and that his Network feature is dedicated to Terry's memory.
