During their training and days in Deep South Wrestling (WWE's old developmental territory), Hawkins and Ryder spent a ton of time watching TV shows. One of their favourites was the HBO series Entourage, and the comedic drama would go on to have a profound impact on their wrestling careers.

It inspired 'The Edgeheads'.

After Michael Hayes challenged both to come up with something unique and fresh to help them stand out from the crowd of lookalike wrestlers in Deep South, Hawkins suggested to Zack that they become Edge stand-ins. He somehow managed to get hold of Edge's email address and fired off a "super-polite" message explaining the idea.

To his surprise, Edge was receptive and said he was into the idea. None of that would've been possible had Hayes not laid down the gauntlet and the directionless Major Brothers (the duo's old tag-team name) been big fans of Entourage.
