There was always this quirky contrast between how all in Matt was with the 'Broken' gimmick and how mentally detached Jeff was as 'Brother Nero'. That, apparently, wasn't staged, because Jeff wasn't totally sold on how good the character would be for his career.

Matt was brutally honest and told him he needed to start doing things that'd take him away from being a "spot monkey". Ouch. To his credit, Jeff could see that his brother was only looking out for his physical well-being and agreed to play along. The pair ended up having some serious fun.

Jeff eventually admitted to Matt that he was loving the gig.

The best thing about it all was that Impact gave them the freedom to do as they pleased. Over time, Jeff began to appreciate that his sibling was doing something totally fresh for both of them, and he was happy to be involved.
