JR gets most of the credit for bringing Foley to the WWF, and that's well-deserved. It was his foresight (Jim thought The Undertaker needed new opponents, and knew Mick would fit the bill) and determination that won the day, but Mick thinks 'Taker might've had more to do with it than anyone lets on.

He's never been able to confirm that, at least not yet. Still, the hardcore icon has an inkling that the 'Deadman' pushed his employment along because he was keen to break free of meandering giants like King Kong Bundy or Mabel and start working with guys who could bump, feed and sell.

That's when Foley told Austin a hilarious add-on to his hunch.

He handed 'Taker a tape of old spots he'd worked elsewhere. The gravelly-voiced 'Phenom' later told Foley, "Yeah, there's quite a lot there we're not gonna be doing". The WWF newcomer wasn't going to argue over that one.
