Anybody who has listened to JR's podcast or read the announcing great's books will know all about the time Vince McMahon warned of a broken heart if they hired Mick Foley. Defiant and believing Jim would end up disappointed, McMahon nonetheless trusted his judgement enough to bring Mankind on board.

Nobody ever told Mick the "broken heart" story though.

He didn't find out until deciding to thumb through JR's autobiography. When he reached the part about bringing fresh talents in during a mid-90s lull for the federation, Foley probs prepared himself for an ego boost - his feud with The Undertaker was a highlight of the period, after all.

Instead, he told himself, "I'm a human being!". Mick couldn't believe that he'd been used as little more than a teachable moment from Vince to Ross. The fact he found this out at 3am under his bedsheets is somehow even better.
