4. There Have Been WWE Talks

For the longest time, the question that any and all non-WWE contracted talents would be asked was whether or not they'd had talks about signing with Vince McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut. Of course, here in 2020 the landscape of professional wrestling is a very different one thanks to the emergence of AEW, the rejuvenated NWA, and the fact that New Japan Pro Wrestling is a viable option for many a wrestler.

Given his size, his charisma, his look, and the fact that his wife Mickie James works for WWE, some might think it's a little surprising that Nick Aldis hasn't been snapped up by Vince McMahon. As Nick explained during our interview, there has been talks between the two parties over the years.

As the NWA Worlds Champion put it, "WWE, for whatever reason, they've just never seemed to want to bring me in. We've had lots of conversations, but they've never seemed to pull the trigger."

WWE's loss is certainly the NWA's gain. And for the NWA, they get a poster boy who they can hang their hat on to lead their brand, while Nick Aldis gets the freedom to showcase how good he really is on the mic and in the ring.
