10 Things We Learned From Paige On Lilian Garcia's Podcast

In a way - as recent news events have demonstrated all too well - it is true of any male-dominated environment: life for an attractive, young woman can be difficult.

While there is little suggestion, to be fair, that those within the WWE did anything to upset Paige, it's pretty clear from the podcast that the wider online culture - at its lowest form, basement-dwelling fans spewing hate via Twitter - contributed to what was a pretty testing few months.

Of course, this ultimately represents only a small minority of those who follow and cover wrestling - which Paige would acknowledge herself - but it is slightly disturbing (if not exactly surprising) that the industry hasn't yet rid itself of its more troubling elements.

What can we do to change things? Not much. In the end, there will likely always be a group of knuckle-draggers who call themselves fans of WWE - which is true of just about every other sport in the world too (except perhaps badminton).
