Ric is the first one to acknowledge that he was "out of control" in his prime. He partied hard, womanised as much as he could and unapologetically got himself into mountains of debt by spending recklessly and living his gimmick. He won't lie about the fun times he's had in his life, but he doesn't want to be remembered that way.

He only wants "the good to outweigh the bad" in the end.

Flair had another tear in his eye when he let Austin in and said he'd rather be remembered for being a great wrestler and for the happy memories he created. The unhappy ones are painful reminders of ego, selfishness and excess. Nowadays, Ric is thankful just to be alive, and he's living vicariously through the moments Charlotte creates in her own career.

At 71 years old, Ric barely drinks, and he's cool with that. He's done enough partying, and now believes he's been granted another chance to make up for lost time with the things that really matter. The 'Nature Boy' wants to be remembered for his dedication and his body of work, not the booze.
