The legend of Vince McMahon says that he's a cold-hearted businessman with occasional bouts of compassion who absolutely hates sneezing. So much has been written about Vince's machine-like idiosyncrasies over the years that it's easy to forget there's a human being in there.

Ric Flair saw the human side of McMahon first hand.

Right before their match at the 2002 Royal Rumble, Vince pulled Ric into a quiet place backstage and told Flair that wrestling him was "one of the coolest moments" of his life. Ric noticed that McMahon had tears in his eyes, and that made him cry too. Those waterworks returned when Flair was recanting the story to Austin on the Network.

Behind all the pomp and circumstance of his public persona, Vincent Kennedy McMahon was a pro wrestling fan growing up, and he knew that Flair was one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots. He wanted to let Ric know that before they stepped into the ring.
