10 Things We Learned From Roman Reigns On WWE’s After The Bell
4. "Fake It Till You Make It"
Corey Graves revealed that Roman described himself as a "thoroughbred" and future mega-star to anyone who'd listen during his time in NXT. That, according to Reigns himself, was a whole lot of bluff to distract from the way he was actually living his life at the time.
He was still living in a small, cramped apartment on a rough neighbourhood and borrowing his wife's car just so he could get to work. Despite the reality, Roman kept envisioning more for himself, and he's amazed that some mystical law of attraction kicked in and took him places.
Hard work and consistency became his personal rules, and then good times followed.
The pair talked about a real "fake it till you make it" mentality that Reigns had back then. He thanks Dusty Rhodes for keeping his confidence up when he was starting to have doubts. Those doubts, so says Corey, were not something Roman made common knowledge.
