10 Things We Learned From Samoa Joe On Talk Is Jericho

10. Leaving TNA

After some small talk, Jericho gets right to the heart of things by asking what led to Joe departing TNA. He says that it was something that had been coming for a while, an accumulation of some small issues and big ones as well. He says that he felt he'd done all he could there and as an ambitious person he wanted more. In response to if it was hard to leave after being there for nine years, he says it was extremely tough but that there was a series of events shortly before he left that made it apparent it was time for him to move on. Chris asks what those events were, and Joe answers carefully by saying it was basically just subtle disagreements between he and management and certain things that made him realize they were moving in a different direction creatively and he decided it was better for both he and TNA that he depart the company. "It comes to a point where words only go so far and you start reading more into actions and that really helped along with the decision." Joe said he didn't want to remain there until the point where the relationship became poisonous - he'd rather remain positive and take that energy elsewhere - and that was a main reason why he left.
