WrestleMania 35 was a bit of an odd one for Seth.

He was running through scenarios in his head for a surefire main event opposite Brock Lesnar on the pay-per-view when Becky got a call to say she'd be headlining the biggest show of 2019 herself. Naturally, Rollins had mixed feeling about this, and Austin appreciated the honesty.

The workhorse Rollins, who had been killing it since the turn of the year (and, truthfully, well before that) thought for sure that "this was gonna be [his] time" to close 'Mania. He had a guaranteed World Title bout with Brock f*cking Lesnar, for crying out loud.

Then, Becky's story with both Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair took off and Seth started to realise that he'd be shunted down the card at MetLife Stadium. It was Brock who suggested that they open the pay-per-view rather than go on right before the main event Triple Threat.

That was something Lesnar viewed as a death spot.
