10 Things We Learned From Speaking To Orlando Colón

9. Vince Approved An Idea For Carlito To Return To WWE

Like so many talents, Orlando Colón was one who had creative frustrations during his ten-year run with WWE.

As Orlando told us, both he and Primo pitched several story ideas to WWE - only for nothing to ever materialise from these suggestions.

One particular idea that the two had, was for Orlando's cousin and Primo's brother Carlito to return to WWE. A former Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, and a two-time Tag Team Champion, Carlito had been under WWE contract for seven years before departing the company in 2010.

After impressing Vince McMahon with the ballsy move to unmask from their Los Matadores garb during an appearance in Puerto Rico, Epico and Primo were encouraged that if ever they wanted to pitch anything to Vince, now was the time.

This idea to bring Carlito back was part of a 'whodunit' of sorts where superstars would be laid out by mystery attackers each week on TV. Of course, the reveal would be that it wasn't just Epico and Primo who were responsible for these attacks, but that Carlito was in on it too.

Upon pitching this to McMahon, Vince gave the green light for Talent Relations to reach out to Carlito. Sadly though, that return would never happen - largely due to WWE offering Carlito a "sh*tty contract."

Even without Carlito, the plan was to push forward with the mystery attacker angle for Epico and Primo... only plans change, pal, and the duo were instead to be turned into the Puerto Rican Playboys.
