10 Things We Learned From Stone Cold's WWE SummerSlam 2016 Review

5. Ziggler Should've Worked More Heelish

One of the more generally accepted crticisms of SummerSlam came as a result of the Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler WWE Championship match.

For one, that title match was for the coveted WWE Championship yet it failed to main event the show. In addition, the Ziggler/Ambrose match had been built up as these two needing to be separated from each other prior to the bell, but then they circled each other for several minutes before proceeding to have a match that would never be considered the most physical of all-time.

This led Austin to criticize the lack of chances taken by Ziggler. The match was good, but it lacked that "big match" SummerSlam feel and Austin suggested that Ziggler might've been better off working more of a heel style. Austin posed the question, "Where's this babyface run gotten you," implying that, despite being in the SummerSlam title match, Ziggler hasn't really succeeded as a fan favorite and turning it up a notch during his sole championship opportunity would've not only made sense, it would've put Dolph in a better position coming out of the match.

Based on the clean finish and Ziggler's good guy approach, Austin pondered about Dolph's future and where he goes from here? It's a very good question.
