10 Things We Learned From Stone Cold Steve Austin On Talk Is Jericho

9. The Rick Rude “Plagiarism” Story

There was a healthy dose of WCW on 'Talk Is Jericho'.

Throughout, Jericho asked Austin for details on matches against guys like Ricky Steamboat, and ol' 'Stone Cold' was only too happy to oblige. In fact, he had a funny story about the time he replaced Rick Rude against Steamboat on house shows.

Austin showed respect to the veteran and asked Ricky what he wanted to do; Steamboat said he had a pretty hot match going with Rude before the 'Ravishing' one went down with injury. So, they followed that format, but that p*ssed Rude off. Backstage, he bellowed, "Where I come from, that's called plagiarism!".

Basically, he told Austin never to copy his match move-for-move and spot-for-spot ever again. Steve told Jericho that this was a teachable moment he definitely learned from. It's partly why he wanted to call matches himself from that point on.

Politeness and respect for Steamboat got his ass chewed.
