Another sterling segment for the SmackDown Live! women's division saw a contract signing predictably descend into violence as the uneasy babyface alliance between Naomi, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch agreed on terms with the Welcoming Committee for their Backlash clash.

Ahead of the mandated fisticuffs that are required to follow the john hancocks, Natalya cut through the obvious tension between her opponents, temporarily stirring up the competitive spirit in Flair as she admitted that her eyes were set firmly on Naomi's title following Sunday's six-women battle.

Brilliant in her delivery as always, Charlotte's overconfidence looks set to be her eventual undoing, as the fan favourites lost yet again to the tightly-bonded heel trio in the Naomi/Carmella match that followed the inevitable post-signing pull-apart.

In attempting to assist Flair and Lynch in their conflict with Natalya and Tamina, Naomi was caught off-guard and rolled up by the inexperienced NXT graduate.

The Welcoming Committee's unity has proven stronger than any individual traits of their usually-favoured opponents, and there are simmering layers of intrigue littered throughout the triumvirates coming out of their unpredictable first encounter.
