10 Things We Learned From The Stone Cold Podcast With Al Snow

1. Snow Showed Austin Some Submissions Before ‘Mania 13

Against his better judgement, Al invited Steve Austin back to his school (he probably had the air freshener ready) in 1997. The sole reason for this was to prepare Steve for his upcoming Submission Match against Bret Hart at WrestleMania 13. There was just one problem with the stipulation: Austin didn't know many holds.

Snow's job was to teach his peer some new submissions he could break out during the match. Remember that Cross-Armbreaker Austin used and the Sharpshooter he briefly put on Bret? It was Al Snow who taught him how to do that, not the Hitman. Little details like that are what make these podcast conversations so damn captivating.

Austin's example is one all aspiring wrestlers should follow. He was well on his way to the top by 'Mania 13, but he knew someone like Al could help his match and give him some pointers. There was no ego in it for Stone Cold, and that's a massive lesson for anybody in the industry who wonders what it takes to be a top guy.
