That refreshing outlook is perhaps why Al feels the need to keep tabs on students he trains to wrestle even once they become professionals. Another valuable lesson taught by Jim Lancaster was that accountability discussed in the previous entry. They go hand-in-hand for Al, and he tries to make taking responsibility one of the first things he teaches.

Using an example, Al told Austin that Lancaster would call him up if he did anything stupid or the old veteran heard anything negative about his trainee from others. Often, this was just to clear the air and find out what the truth really was, but that fatherly relationship stuck with Snow throughout his career and still does to this day.

Again, this is a great way of looking at things. Austin seemed impressed that Al would continue working with his students on a more personal level long after they left his school. Learning to bump and how to use in-ring psychology is only half the battle to Snow.
