10 Things We Learned From WCW Magazine's Final Issue

1. We Miss WCW

Sure, by 2001 WCW was a hollow husk of its former self, and the company never really had that long of a run at the top to begin with. From late-1996 till late-1998, the promotion was golden, and could pretty much do no wrong, but when the wheels started to fall off, they did so in dramatic fashion. Nobody knew how to turn things around, and reading this final issue of WCW Magazine provides a certain degree of melancholy. For the most part, everything contained in the pages is positive, and everyone, from fans to wrestlers - even announcers - were right behind what the group were doing. There's a recap of the final WCW Pay-Per-View, Greed, which is historic for being the last ever true WCW supershow, and it leaves an overwhelming feeling of dejection, and a sense that World Championship Wrestling is missed. It truly was an alternative to WWE, even towards the end, and it's a damn shame things couldn't have turned out differently. Did you read WCW Magazine?
