Most kids get a party thrown for them, large amounts of cake and some nifty presents to open on their 14th birthday. Ospreay was a little different. His parents were keen to feed their son's passion for wrestling to the point of buying him a wrestling ring to mark the big day.

That's not a joke. Will's mum knew a welder in the local area and went about the task of constructing a personal playground her boy could learn in. Jericho was in awe of this story, and who can blame him? It's not every day that mothers buy their teenage sons a full-scale ring when they turn 14.

It was inside this very ring that Ospreay learned to perform many of the crazy flips and bumps he's known for today.

Will's background is in backyard wrestling, a controversial subject for those who believe proper (and professional) wrestling training is the only way to break into the industry. Ospreay is living proof that passion can take someone far.
