7. "I Was A Jazz Wrestler”

You might be sitting there wondering what the f*ck a "jazz wrestler" is.

That's what Regal described himself as on 'Talk Is Jericho'. Explaining, he told the host that he always went out there in free form and reacted organically to different crowds/situations. In other words, he was akin to a jazz musician who went with the flow instead of working a rigid routine.

AEW has given Regal a new lease of life in that respect. He has that old feeling again on episodes of Dynamite and Rampage, which feels good after so many years of playing a defined GM role on WWE's NXT show. "I've got my old ticks again", he told Jericho (one could almost picture him grinning as he said that).

It's nice to think that William is happy as a performer again. He'd moved away from that side of the biz in WWE, and certainly wasn't going to turn heel as NXT GM any time soon. AEW has revitalised his thirst for performance.
