10 Things We Learned From William Regal On Talk Is Jericho

8. He Could've Been A Bricklayer

Growing up, Regal had two options. He could either follow his dream of becoming a pro wrestler, or he could follow in his father's footsteps and become a bricklayer. Realistically, he was always going to choose the former, but not because he didn't have respect for what his dad did.

Daddy Regal owned a construction company, and had worked his tail off to build the very house his family lived in. William always admired that. His dad worked until he was 82 (he's 87 in 2022), and obviously instilled a tremendous work ethic in his son. Ye olde apple didn't fall too far from the tree in that regard, basically.

In another heartwarming moment (one of many), Regal told Jericho: "I just like wrestling". It was something he knew he'd put his all into, but he couldn't say the same about the bricklaying biz. "I knew I wasn't cut out for that".

Thank God the man chose wrasslin'.
