10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Becky Lynch

8. WWE Don’t Truly Acknowledge Her First NXT Gimmick

Aside from Bálor rolling his eyes as he calls Becky's first character a "Riverdance gimmick", there's next-to-no word on the awfulness of her stereotypical intro to NXT in 2014. That, we're afraid to say, is a bit of a mistake from WWE. By taking ownership of the wrestle-crap nature of the gimmick, they might've raised a laugh.

Pretending it was a learning experience is futile.

There's zero mention of how little the gimmick fit Becky's tomboy persona, or how awkward she must've found it to do her best Irish jig as fans in Full Sail sat on their hands. This, whether WWE would like to admit it or not, is the kind of sh*t they'd slate WCW for producing if this was a doc centred around them.

It was horrible, and that needed to be said. Finn claiming Becky was "still having fun" doesn't cut it, and neither does leaving viewers with the strange feeling that Lynch was happy to do it. She's critical of other things, so why not this?
