10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: Raw 25
4. The Undertaker Found It More Emotional Than You Might Think
They didn't capitalise enough on The Undertaker's own emotions or sentimentality either.
Early in the special, 'Taker rolls up to the Manhattan Center, and the feeling given is that he hasn't been back there since those first tapings of Raw in 1993. Whether that's true or not, watching an icon struggle to hold back some tears as he casts a glance at the building is one of WWE 24's most powerful moments.
Again, why didn't WWE use that emotion to sell his comeback against John Cena in New Orleans when it was right there for them to use? Nobody is claiming 'Taker should have started bawling his eyes out before accepting Cena's challenge, but outright ignoring organic drama seems foolish.
The Undertaker looked surprised at himself for getting all choked up when he clapped eyes on the Manhattan Center. It was as though the past 25 years raced through his mind and he couldn't help but think about all he'd been through, or how many friends he'd watched come and go.
It's unlike WWE not to exploit such raw emotion.
