10 Things We Learned From WWE 24: WrestleMania Orlando

6. WWE Claim Ownership Of 'Too Sweet'

WWE seem to have opened their arms to the internet wrestling community of late (which, apart from those living off-grid in the Outer Hebrides or Western Sahara, is pretty much everybody), giving them a big sloppy kiss in the shape of Shinsuke Nakamura's Royal Rumble win. Affections are set to escalate thanks to his proposed match opposite AJ Styles at WrestleMania.

Doubtless, this company is not at all benighted to activity beyond its own radius.

So when the degenerated DX bumped knuckles with WWE's flimsy Bullet Club proxy on Raw 25, it may have been the company simply trying to be down with the kids, rather than a passive-aggressive snipe at a certain set of tender deers. Same goes for the gesture featuring very prominently during WWE 24.

Yeh right. The reality is more cynical: the message is, 'WWE owns this hand signal, and don't forget it.' Even if it's not true.

They also highlighted a chap in a PROGRESS shirt. Make of that what you will.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
