10 Things We Learned From WWE Hall Of Fame 2017 Induction Ceremony
1. Kurt Angle Has Learned A Lot
There was a time when it looked like Kurt Angle was going to turn into a pro wrestling cautionary tale - maybe even a tragedy. In 2006, WWE released the star because he refused to seek help for drug addiction. Fans were hoping that he'd take some time to sort out his personal problems, but instead, he signed with TNA almost immediately.
Angle continued to deliver the goods in the ring, but fans became even more worried as stories of him getting arrest for DUI or appearing incoherent in public became more common. Finally, a few years ago, Angle seemed to finally get his issues sorted out. Since then, he's been dedicated to his health and sobriety.
Angle acknowledged his mistakes in his acceptance speech, and had some hard-learned wisdom to pass on to the current crop of superstars. He told them to follow the rules and limit their mistakes, because nobody wants to be known as someone who could have been the best if they did things right. Instead of getting into trouble, it was better to focus on honing one's craft. Certainly, Angle's words carried weight.
