10 Things We Learned From WWE Raw (May 29)

7. Main Eventers

The crop of performers in the Extreme Rules Fatal Five Way were again split off this week, as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns were given show-closing honours while Finn Balor and Samoa Joe renewed their old NXT rivalry in a triple threat match that also suffered Bray Wyatt's involvement.

In truth, the 'Eater of Worlds' was a valuable asset in the match, taking yet another fall to protect the 'Demon King' and 'Samoan Submission Machine', as well as remind the audience that they should never ever invest any stock into any of his matches or programmes from now on until he's been completely repackaged.

Snark aside, it wasn't a great night for Bray (story of his year), but conventional WWE booking suggests that it may actually stand him in good stead this Sunday.

Received wisdom will also favour Seth Rollins then, who will look to avenge a clean-as-a-sheet loss to 'The Big Dog' following an absorbing near-20 minute main event on Monday Night Raw.

Despite Michael Cole's commentary almost completely erasing all their hard work with his post-match call about Extreme Rules being where the real action goes down, the company's 50/50 philosophy suggests that in suffering the week's biggest defeat, Rollins will also earn the biggest victory.

Over-arching message? They all suck, and couldn't hold Brock's jock.
