10 Things We Learned From WWE’s Undertaker: The Last Ride (Chapter Four)
3. What He Was Thinking On The Flight Home From Saudi
The flight back to the States was miserable.
Goldberg's botched Jackhammer came close to breaking The Undertaker's neck, and could've ended his life never mind his wrestling career. On the plane, he suffered serious back pain, a "jacked up" neck and more psychological anguish. For the millionth time in just a few years, 'Taker thought about calling time on his run.
This time, he wasn't just thinking of himself; 'Taker had his wife and kids in mind, and he knew he had to "take an honest look" at where he was going career-wise. He'd had back-to-back disasters on huge Saudi stadium shows, and wasn't entirely sure things fell on Goldberg's shoulders. The Undertaker was angry at himself, not Bill.
Worse, he'd already agreed with McMahon to work another match at Extreme Rules the next month. As his flight soared through the air, 'Taker's heart went stone cold. He wondered if there was some way he could get out of the match before it was too late and WWE began promoting it.
