10 Things We Learned From WWE’s Undertaker: The Last Ride (Chapter Three)
9. WWE Don't Acknowledge The Chris Jericho Switch
'Taker's 'Casket Match' against Rusev from the so-called Greatest Royal Rumble is given the most fleeting of cameos in the doc, but there's zero mention of the fact that Chris Jericho was his original opponent. That'd be more acceptable if Jericho hadn't been a talking head in earlier episodes.
As a result, Rusev's big chance comes across as filler.
This is a missed opportunity, because The Undertaker himself admits that being part of WWE's deal in Saudi Arabia was something he was "honoured" to do. He also wanted to see how fans in Saudi would react to quirky gimmicks like the coffin and all the other macabre stuff his gimmick was known for.
That, and Rusev replacing now-AEW star Jericho, gets glossed over in just 60 seconds. Maybe this match had a bigger role before the Bulgarian left WWE, and they just decided to scrap it once they realised the Jericho narrative was expected too.
