10 Things We Learned From WWE’s Undertaker: The Last Ride (Chapter Two)
4. The Doc Pays AJ Styles A Huge Compliment
"There's one guy I missed. He's one guy I would've loved to work - AJ".
Those were The Undertaker's words as he camped out backstage in a private dressing room and watched snippets of the 2018 Royal Rumble card. In the background, AJ Styles can be seen locking the Calf Crusher on a helpless Kevin Owens in the main show opener. This doc totally puts AJ over as one of the best.
'Taker adds, "he gets it, he really does", and compares AJ to one of the greats by saying he reminds him a lot of one Shawn Michaels. This tiny, easy-to-miss clip makes Styles look like the man, and it's obvious that 'Taker was already thinking about someday working with AJ if he was able; he probably didn't have 'Mania 36's manic 'Boneyard Match' in mind though.
Old school TNA fans who adored AJ Styles before casual WWE followers even knew who he was can feel vindicated by The Undertaker's admiration of 'The Phenomenal One'. His praise also shows that 'Taker loves guys who can put in a shift. He's one for the workhorses.
