5. AJ Styles Didn't Even Ask Vince McMahon About 'Mania

This one took some serious balls.

AJ Styles thought about ringing up Vince and asking if he thought 'Taker would be interested in working with him at WrestleMania 36. AJ had seen 'The Deadman' on Steve Austin's 'Broken Skull Sessions' and heard the legend say he wanted to go out on his own terms. That told Styles that Extreme Rules wasn't 'Taker's last dance.

In a moment of genuine inspiration, AJ decided to skip McMahon and called 'Taker directly. The pitch caught the vet off guard a little, and he initially turned Styles down despite admiring his work. 'Taker told AJ that he'd have loved to have worked with him "10-15 years ago", noting that they could've done something special.

AJ wouldn't take no for an answer, and asked his peer to at least think about what he was suggesting. Calaway agreed, but did say that he'd made peace with things after Extreme Rules and wasn't sure he still had the hunger for another match. "Whatever decision you make, it's the right one", Styles replied smartly.
