10 Things We Learned From WWE SmackDown (April 18)

5. Shining Stars

American Alpha's unending main roster slide continued on Tuesday's edition of the show, but it's hard not to gleam some positives from some long-awaited shine on Primo and Epico Colon. Not least because they were actually referred to by those names.

Their 2012 Tag Team Title run alongside Rosa Mendes seems so much longer ago than the five years it actually was, with torrid spells as matadors and timeshare salesmen almost dragging them under before this miraculous sudden recovery.

It's too early to assess the potential of the brothers on Tuesday nights, but the nimble victory over Jordan and Gable appeared on the surface to be an attempt to salvage what still remained of the talented duo.

Effectively punished for their ability over the last half decade, Primo and Epico have been used and abused by the WWE machine, and deserve a fair crack at returning to the summit on either show.

Their debut beatdown and immediate victory this week over the former champions surely places them in contention for a shot against The Usos in the future.

Ignoring how stale both teams may have been over the past several years, the matches are almost certain to remind fans why the brother pairings have been worth sticking with.
